Each morning when I begin work in my studio I undertake small sketches for up to an hour in order to draw from life and ensure that my artists' eye is kept sharp. I then move onto my large studio easel and work on my large pieces for the rest of the day.
This is a collection of those daily sketches. They are all 6 x 6" framed in an 8 x 8" frame and drawn on high quality Arches watercolour paper with graphite pencils. Each sketch normally takes 3 - 4 days of early morning sketches before they are complete.
The subjects are a collection of what I find and observe on my daily dog walks with my trusty Spaniel partner Charlie. Totally dependent on the seasons, they are delightful studies of nature.
